Godelleta is renowned as one of the major municipalities for this traditional sport, the pelota (ball). The local pelotari club, amongst the most important ones in the region, includes prominent teams across several leagues and categories. It also has an academy. Godelleta had the honor of hosting the opening match during the first European Championship of Pelota in 1993.
